So you're looking to buy a fitness bike. Have you heard of the Peloton Bike? If not, it's time to ask questions. A stationary bike that streams live classes from spin instructors like Soul Cycle's Kacy Duke and SoulCycle instructor (now Peloton instructor) Taylor Wane? Absurd! But it exists, and it's a tempting price for all you homebodies who can't get enough of spin class but are not willing to step into a real studio.
The brand is new to the market, but it's already been featured in The Wall Street Journal and Fast Company - so we decided it was time to check out what the fuss was about.
We ordered one up, and here are our thoughts on this trendy new product:
It looks pretty sleek. It has a 22-inch touchscreen that streams live classes throughout the day, including early morning classes (5am!), as well as prerecorded rides from top instructors. You can even stream other people's rides - so if you want to be like Zac Efron and work out with Anna Kaiser, now's your chance!
It feels pretty solid. It comes with weights for an upper body workout at home, and is designed with a smooth belt drive that feels more likepeloton bikes
